Aleta Childs

Aleta is a contemporary artist, living and working in the foothills of Melbourne.  She has been practising her art for 30 years, exhibiting and selling her work locally.

Using thick layers of paint she grinds back to expose a smooth yet weathered texture. Influenced by Japanese and Chinese script, she embellishes the surfaces with ink and oil paint. She leaves her art works unframed/unadorned, allowing the calligraphic to continue around the edges.
