Description

The Titan Arum, originally from Sumatra, is cultivated in many Botanic Gardens around the world and is a popular attraction being the largest inflorescence known. This particular bloom was in 2011 but the same plant in Cairns Botanic Gardens later set the Australian record at 2.82m tall in 2016. The artwork shows the male and female flowers which are located within the inflorescence at the base of the spadix. The fruit and the enormous compound leaf are also shown.

This is a digital print of my original artwork and part of a series on plants of North Queensland, drawn from nature, not photographs. It is packed with a piece of white card in a clear, glossy resealable cello bag. Perfectly presented for a gift, even without a frame.
